Harris Consulting's client budgeting consultant, Ogden Tabb, went to Christ on February 16, 2025 at the age of 78.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, in 1946, Ogden was the son of Howard and Virginia Tabb and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Homer and Lovie Tabb. He is survived by his two sisters, Eleanor “Bebe” Tabb Fasbender and Connie Tabb Herndon.
He was married to the love of his life, Mary, of Augusta, Georgia, for 57 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising six children: Audra Tabb James (Tom), Molly Tabb Peterka (Kenny), Alison “OLA” Tabb, Corrie Tabb Madlem (Mark), John Ogden Tabb, Jr. (Kelly), and Jonathan Jennings Tabb (Carrie). He was a proud grandfather to nineteen grandchildren: Thomas and William James; Tristan, Asher, and Lyla Peterka; Grace (Greg), Zoë, Sarah, and Lucy Madlem; John Ogden III, Jackson, Magdalene, Eloise, and Hampton Tabb; and Morgan, Annie, Georgia, Piper, and Hattie Tabb.
Ogden graduated from the University of Georgia and spent his entire career with the Coca-Cola Export Corporation and The Coca-Cola Company. He found joy in spending time at the beach with his extended family, playing golf, and cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs.
Ogden is remembered for boldly living his unquestionable love for Jesus Christ. Captured by the Holy Spirit in his mid-20’s, Ogden’s faith and devotion to God charted a new direction for the life of his family. The joy he carried with him seemed so effortless, and he intentionally spread this joy to every community he was a part of. The community that mattered most to him was his family. His adoration for Mary, whom he met on the 13th hole of the Augusta National during the 1963 Masters tournament, was evident and infectious. His children fondly and gratefully remember him in his chair reading his Bible every morning without fail. The genuineness of his faith was evident in countless sacrifices he made to be a continual loving presence in the lives of his six children and 19 grandchildren. His home was a safe and welcome place for all, as he regularly provided unconditional love to friends, friends of friends and even strangers who God placed in his life. With a kind and supportive spirit he mentored many men of the community in how to be a Christ-like husband and father. His wife, along with many others, remember him as “the most Godly man I ever knew”, and the ripple effect of his life will be felt for generations to come.
Ogden was laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Atlanta, GA 30328.
